2 months
Two months has gone by now since i last wrote an entry. A bits changed since early august. My noisy downstairs neighbors moved out during September so there is a lot more quiet in the house. I'm still living in providence with a roommate and while his daily habits leave much to be desired... its better than still being at my parents. Not that my parents are bad people... i just felt that it was time to move on. I've been on the job just about three months now. Overall i have no complaints. Each day offer its own unique set of challenges i have to work through and its better than sitting around doing nothing. My boss is a good guy. And my coworker and i have interesting conversations about investing and stocks... aside from briefly skimming through our personal lives. Disability is set to run out soon. For anyone thats not aware... when you are on disability and return back to work they give you a grace period before the checks run out. I've had to adjust my work taxes as a result of this because disability isnt taxed so at the end of the year im gonna end up owing money unless its been set correctly. Mentally im doing better. I find i have less issues with hallucinations. They come and go but i've doing a better job of handling it. Truth be told its getting to a point where the medication is in full effect and theres no need to change the dosage. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow for a routine check up. I find if i drink it makes my symptoms worse so i've been doing my best not to drink. one or two on the weeks really... but trying my best not to get plastered. Its bad for my liver anyways. The medication metabolizes in my liver and drinking can reduce its effectiveness.
Things are good with my girlfriend. We made 10 months today. Next weekend i am going to NH with her to see the foliage and go hiking. I really do care about her a lot. And i hope that when we make our 1 year i can think of something special to do with her. I've been switching off between spending time at my house and sleeping over her house. We have a plan of moving in together next summer... When her lease is up we are planning on getting an apartment together.
Financially im getting back on track. With the two income sources i am able to save some money every month and pay my bills on time. I've been paying down my debts and as i get hit with new letters from companies i might have owed years ago... im able to setup plans for rapid repayment. Ideally i'd like to move in with my girlfriend with only my car and student loans that i have to pay back... with a few grand in the bank as a buffer... and as of right now thats what it looks like is going to happen. Then while im living with her spend the time and effort to rebuild my credit so that way in a few years we can buy a house together. I've got a couple of tiny income sources which are paying me too. Mainly from apps on my phone. It's not a lot... maybe 10-15 extra bucks a month.. but over the course of a year its a couple hundred dollars. Really im trying to earn more money that that... but i've yet to find any side hustle that is going to be substantial. My side computer repair stuff hasnt been active since the summer... and no one has contacted me asking if i wanted to help with landscaping. I thought about signing up for lyft and renting a car from them to go driving... but my understanding is that i would have to do 50-60 rides in order to get to break even.
The ultimate goal for saving money is to start reducing the number of times i eat out... and also to quit smoking. I dont yet know how or when i am going to do those things... but if i can do that i'd save 500-600 a month. I think i just need do it.
